What is relational psychodynamic therapy?

Relational psychodynamic therapist is a type of long-term depth therapy. When one hears the term “depth” therapist, it is not unusual to have a quick association with Carl Jung. And you would be correct! Carl Jung was a pioneer in depth work and was and is a favorite of mine.

However, how this translates into everyday therapy this means that as a depth-oriented, psychodynamic, and relational therapist, I focus on helping patients explore the underlying patterns, emotions, and experiences that shape how they relate to themselves and others. This approach looks beyond surface-level symptoms to understand the deeper roots of pain, often rooted in early relationships or unconscious beliefs.

In our work together, therapy becomes a collaborative process—grounded in trust and curiosity—where your inner world can be explored safely and openly. I believe that healing happens not just through insight, but through the therapeutic relationship itself, where new ways of being and connecting can emerge over time.
